They say 3rd time is a charm: they are partly correct: this year, the improvement of SlomoII (SlomoIII) was made as well as Munch. Here is the story of Slomo3, for the story go back one and choose MUNCH.

Slomo III was a slight improvement: after spending all of my time on Munch, I only had a brief 16 hours to try and patch up SlomoII. What I had learned about last years effort: I needed more power, not speed. To do this, I added two additional motors to the drive train. In test runs, it seemed to work just fine.

Of course, in competition, I had A LOT of problems. This was probably due to the antenna being dissected early on. Also, I had put the motors in series to increase the resistance to minimize the impact on the speed controllers. For next year, the plan is to try them in series and get more oomph out of them.

The other chance was to add a lower wedge to it: I did this with the high-tech add of a chunk of sirplus plastic: this worked exceptionally well.

See the detail of Munch for much more info...
